Criss' Story

My parents always taught me to have a love and respect for nature and natural foods and products. Although I was born & raised in Brooklyn, NY, my father is from Monte Grande, Argentina, and spent a great deal of time out in the forests. My mother was raised in Missouri and spent most of her childhood on farmland. It's no wonder I became an herbalist 20 years ago. I studied herbalism for about 10 years, with a wide variety of teachers. I thought about starting my own natural products company, but I decided that the risk was too great. I watched big pharmaceuticals starting to make "natural" products, squeezing out the small practitioners and healers with inferior mass-produced products. I was very upset that I couldn't trust anyone enough to talk about their products.

When I was first introduced to Shaklee Corporation I was the largest skeptic ever. I just didn't trust that a large company would take proper care of their ingredients, or make sure their products were effective. I did some of my own research, and I was amazed at the impeccable track record of this company! Now, I am proud to be a spokesperson for Shaklee's products -- I feel like it's the perfect marriage between my love of nature and my knowledge of natural healing.

I run two businesses -- in addition to my new part-time Shaklee business, I run a web design business full-time. I am an active member of several business organizations, I volunteer some of the time I don't have to spare. I have two children, three cats, and I live in Middletown near Slate Hill.

My passion and my vision is to build a future for myself and my family where doing what is right is Always feasible.

The founder of Your Green Club, Criss Ittermann, has been an herbalist since 1991. Criss is also a Reiki healer, and pays attention to many other healing modalities, nutrition, biology, alternative health, and problems with the current medical and pharmaceutical industries. She's always been an ecological activist.

Tired of huge manufacturers who are only concerned about making money and "going green" only because they know it will bring them more money, Criss stumbled upon an industry that has been green -- keeping it's impact on the environment low -- for over 50 years. They created the first earth-friendly biodegradable cleaning product in 1960.

Criss struggled with finding green cleaning products that were inexpensive AND effective.
