Since fish is an unusually high-protein low-fat food, many diets plans recommend fish in them. That makes fish a great choice when you're dining out. To make sure you're selecting fish that are both good for you, and good for the environment, please check out this handy pocket-sized Guide to Ocean Friendly Seafood. |
I am already a success story, but I'm still losing weight. I've taken off over 40lbs on this diet. I feel phenominal. You can read other incredible success stories. The most impressive story is not on the website: one woman I met in New Orleans lost 150lbs on the diet, avoided bariatric surgery, and is working on losing another 100lbs. Amazing! And a true inspiration. You can look at my progress below.
I don't think of my weight in terms of pounds. I think of it in terms of how I feel, look, and what size clothes I wear. I started out pouring out of size 18 clothes, about to move firmly into a size 20. Since I didn't own anything in a size 20, I had a choice of losing weight or buying a new wardrobe. I was diagnosed asthmatic in 2007 and my weight didn't help me breathe.
I was eyeballing these weight-loss products and calculating price, price-per-day, price-per-meal, looking at my bank account and feeling very depressed. Ah, yes, and putting even more weight on. That's what you do when you're depressed.
Then I started bursting at the seams -- literally. Ready for size 20? NO! I realized I had a choice: spend money on a new wardrobe with NO END in sight -- or lose the weight, and fit into all the clothes I already have.
Well, duh.
I took the plunge, but made the smart move to become a distributor -- at least to make some cash back, and at best to inspire others to give this a real try too. What does it hurt to lose weight and make money while doing it?
I compare my waist-loss plan with my alternative: not only will I be eating healthy, saving time figuring out what to eat, not having to run into a fast-food joint so my stomach isn't growling at a client's office during a meeting -- I'm saving money on my wardrobe! Pass the shake!
Now I'm doing so well I have to consider getting a new wardrobe again!!! Only this time I can shop at almost any store, because I'm about to fit into a size 12! I haven't been a size 12 since I was terribly sick 10 years ago! And at that time I had weighed in at 120lbs at my worst!!!
By the way -- the soy used in the products are NOT genetically modified. No artificial ANYTHING. Bless them! I'm a no-chemicals type of person. I'm also grateful that they're using fructose to sweeten the shakes and not sugar substitutes. I'd rather have water with lemon than even consider having a diet soda.
Here's my progress. I weighed in more often, but forgot to log it -- so if I find the weigh-ins I sent to my buddies, I'll add them in. For photos and more information, see my blog:
| Date | Week | Notes |
| 1/21/08 | -1 | order placed |
| 1/24/08 | 0 | received package, purchase a scale, weigh-in at 197lbs, measured at 40" waist, 48" hips. Size, barely 18, probably 20. |
| 1/31/08 | 1 | 193lbs, measured at 38" waist, 47" hips. Size 18. Woot! |
| 2/10/08 | 2 | 191lbs, measured at 38" waist, 47" hips. Size 18 fits great. |
| 2/22/08 | 3 | 187lbs. I still need to exercise more. |
| 3/1/08 | 5 | 184.8lbs. |
| 3/8/08 | 6 | 183lbs. |
| 3/16/08 | 7 | 180.3lbs. 1/4 of my goal weight lost!! Purchased Godspell soundtrack. :) |
| 3/23/08 | 8 | 179.4lbs. |
| 4/1/08 | 9.5 | 178lbs. |
| 4/13/08 | 11 | 175.2lbs. |
| 4/20/08 | 12 | 174.6lbs. Dratted networking events! :) 36.5"waist, 45.25"hips. I've lost weight everywhere, though, my pants legs are swimming on me. I wore a dress yesterday! :) |
| 4/23/08 | 12.5 | 173lbs. Snuck in an extra weigh-in. Comfortably wearing a size 16 pant. 24lbs gone!! My weight loss is now notable to anyone who has seen me recently. |
| 5/10/08 | 15 | 168.8lbs. Almost to my next goal! Could be there next week! I need to watch my diet more closely. |
| 6/17/08 | 20 | 166.0lbs. I didn't watch my diet more closely :) -- I decided I have to have smaller intermediate goals between the big mileposts. |
| 6/22/08 | 22 | 165.2lbs. 165lb goal pretty much achieved -- gave myself $60 limit to spend at a thrift store on new clothes & accessories. Since this isn't my final goal, but I do need new clothes for my new figure, I need to buy clothes, but not NEW clothes since I probably won't fit in them when I reach my goal and enter maintenance. |
| 6/27/08 | 23 | 164.4lbs. I am not using the Cinch Coach every day the way I should, but when I do it works. |
| 9/22/08 | ? | 154.0lbs. I've lost a total of 24" so far! A little here, a little there. And I feel like I lost 24"! I'm in a size 14, and I've lost track of what week # I'm on. My "goal" is supposedly 135lbs, but I'm trying to figure out where I'm hiding a whole 19 lbs of body fat. I feel great, and I know I can get thinner, but what does the number on the scale mean as long as I keep going down in dress/pants sizes? |
These are my results on an approximately 1500 calorie diet, 5'3.5" female, with a "body type II" i.e. I can lose weight if I'm trying &/or exercising, but the vast majority of my weight loss was while sedentary. My results may not be typical, but they don't seem to be very uncommon. I'm required to disclaim my weight loss, legally, so don't let this disclaimer dissuade you from trying -- just from being disappointed. Your results could darned well be much better if you exercise or walk more than I do!
